I still am sceptical of crypto/web3 gaming. A lot of projects that started in the bull market transitioned away from crypto. That's been under reported.
But it shouldn't just be AAA that are building. That's backwards. When mobile gaming took off it was fast moving indie devs that proved the tech and then, years later, AAA showed.
Where are the indie games? There should be indie games by now. A lot of them. That says to me the tech isn't ready. Least not from a design aspect.
Methinks 99% of the crypto game projects are being funded by investors looking for crypto products, not games. If they were experienced gaming investors they'd have a range of games in their portfolios, from small team games that launch fast, to show moving resource heavy AAAs. Instead they're all slow moving, mega bucks projects.
